Emoto's Ice Crystals

Masaru Emoto is a Japanese author and entrepreneur who conducted many experiments with water crystals. Emoto would take polluted water and fresh spring water from all parts of the world and would then proceed to freeze the water so that it would become a crystal (snowflake) and quickly discovered that the polluted water took on little to no shape at all, and the fresh spring water took on extravagantly beautiful shapes. This doesn't come across as to much of a surprise. Even to the unscientific mind,  there isn't too much of a shock, good water equals good crystals, bad water equals bad crystals, not rocket science right?

Polluted Water

Fresh Water

Well, Emoto decided to run a new set of experiments. This time he decided to have a battle of the bands. He played Mozart to one set of water and heavy metal music to another. He then froze the water in the same conditions and photographed them accordingly.

The outcome rather fascinating , it seemed that the water that heavy metal was played for did not turn into a crystal at all, and the water that Mozart was played to created a nice beautiful shape.
Emoto was intrigued. He realized that outside sources could affect water, and he decided to try something even crazier than playing music to water. He decided to write words to the water and see what the outcome would be.

Again a rather shocking outcome. Emoto took this information of writing phrases such as, You make me sick, I will kill you and Love and Appreciation. Again Emoto was shocked to see that this had an effect on the ice crystal. He took this newfound information and went a little bit different direction. He then took the polluted water he had collected that would not form ice crystals, and froze it to attempt to make an ice crystal which we have seen doesn't work out the greatest. Then he would take the water and pray to it, and refreeze it. The outcome was absolutely astonishing.

The water after being thawed blessed and refrozen went from a formless shape to a gorgeous water crystal!
Dr. Masaru Emoto is considered to practice pseudoscience by professionals because of his lack of being able to maintain a controlled experiment because of biases by the photographers. Though, Emoto defends this by saying “This is one of the more difficult areas to clarify. However, from continuing these experiments we have come to the conclusion that the water is reacting to the actual words. For example, for our trip to Europe we tried using the words “thank you” and “you fool” in German. The people on our team who took the actual photographs of the water crystals did not understand the German for “you fool”, and yet we were able to obtain exactly the same kind of results in the different crystal formations based on the words used.”
So, though Emoto may not have the most scientific way of handling things he may still be on to something. Only time will tell as scientists test his theory and expand on it.

Let’s just keep this information in mind and revel at Dr.Emoto’s findings. Let’s also remind ourselves that the average human is made up of 50%-60% water.
