Countdown

Time keeps moving on and things keep changing. Sometimes I feel like my life is just a series of countdowns moving towards an end goal. Right now my end goal is moving to Montana to be closer to my better half, but within this countdown I have school deadlines, and moving days that I have to get through first. When I go to bed I will sigh and say "one more down.". Many of my friends are family are also in this mood just waiting for the coming of Spring.

In these times of monotony, that is typical to winter, we need to remind ourselves of the little things in life that are important. Completing the day may just seem like putting another check mark on the calendar, but think, what did you do with the 24 hours you were given that day? Did you get coffee with an old friend? Make a new friend? Learn something new? Share a special moment with someone? Watch the sun rise, or see the glimpse of a shooting star? All of these things easily don't seem important to us as we look at our extravagant new beginning that seems to be barely inching closer, but these are the things that can help us get through the tedious time and ultimately increase the joy in our fresh start!

So embrace these moments. I could say that I have 69 days till life starts again, and just go with the flowing monotony of work and school just getting through till May, or I can say that I have 69 days to hang out with the great friends that I have gained over the years, and show them some of the kindness they have all shown me. Out of these two I choose to Vivre la joie!

The Masterpiece

Only the artist can truly enjoy the artwork. Others can enjoy the masterpiece that has been carefully composed by it's creator, but they will never truly know the true emotions and hard work that have been dedicated towards making such a piece. They will also never feel the pride that is gained by displaying the artwork in it's completed form, and cannot know the feeling of a kept secret when the audience gazes upon its beauty. The audience will always take a piece of this secret that has gone through their presuppositional filter and will create their own version of what the artist was capturing. The artist is knowing of the pieces every flaw, but understands how each "flaw" adds charter making the piece what it should be.

Now think about God as our artist, and us the artwork. We are beautifully and wonderfully made in his imagine, and we are being displayed for all to see. Every "imperfection" is perfectly placed to make you what you are meant to be. Your Composer is displaying you for all to see and finds great pride in you. He knows the secret hidden inside of you, and has designed you so your secret will shine within you and add the final finesse to his masterpiece, you.

Poem

Here is a poem I wrote a while back. Thought I might share it now.

Lost in the woods with no way out
Lost in the woods of my own doubt
Like the sun the truth I seek
If only a glimpse, a ray, a peek
From it's warmth I'll know what's true
And like a flower I will burst anew
With petals that are full and strong
It's for this resurrection that I long
When the leaves no longer blind my eyes
I will take a stance and boldly rise
Rise and embrace the blessed day
All my burdens carried far away
Burdens that were once so strong
I could not even see the wrong
My Gracious Savior holds them now
It is my freedom this does allow
For my freedom I praise His name
My life will never be the same
This boundless JOY I long to share
With all the people everywhere
All should know that it is true
You may know my Savior too
