Countdown

Time keeps moving on and things keep changing. Sometimes I feel like my life is just a series of countdowns moving towards an end goal. Right now my end goal is moving to Montana to be closer to my better half, but within this countdown I have school deadlines, and moving days that I have to get through first. When I go to bed I will sigh and say "one more down.". Many of my friends are family are also in this mood just waiting for the coming of Spring.

In these times of monotony, that is typical to winter, we need to remind ourselves of the little things in life that are important. Completing the day may just seem like putting another check mark on the calendar, but think, what did you do with the 24 hours you were given that day? Did you get coffee with an old friend? Make a new friend? Learn something new? Share a special moment with someone? Watch the sun rise, or see the glimpse of a shooting star? All of these things easily don't seem important to us as we look at our extravagant new beginning that seems to be barely inching closer, but these are the things that can help us get through the tedious time and ultimately increase the joy in our fresh start!

So embrace these moments. I could say that I have 69 days till life starts again, and just go with the flowing monotony of work and school just getting through till May, or I can say that I have 69 days to hang out with the great friends that I have gained over the years, and show them some of the kindness they have all shown me. Out of these two I choose to Vivre la joie!
